How do I turn my alarm on and off?
There are a number of different ways for you to arm and disarm your intruder alarm. The most obvious method is to key the alarm code into your control panel. Alternatively, you can use your remote key fob or a proximity tag which only needs to be held close to the control panel.
Will my alarm still work if there’s a power cut?
If there’s a power cut, the battery backup will kick in. If properly maintained, this will last for between 8 and 12 hours.
Does my alarm system need a dedicated phone line?
No, it doesn’t. We can provide a GSM enabled device which works using the same technology as mobile phones. If extra high redundancy is required, we can provide a Dualcom GPRS device which use both a normal phone line and the GSM network. That way, if one is down or disabled, the other will kick in.
Will an intruder alarm reduce my insurance premium?
Different insurance companies have different criteria and policies. You will have to check with your provider to see what savings can be made. Whilst we can not guarantee it, you will often be able to make savings on your insurance premiums.
How can I stop my alarm going off accidentally?
A properly maintained system is essential. Batteries need to be replaced when they are low on charge and if a break develops in the system circuit, this can trigger a false alarm. Sensors also need to be checked regularly as poorly maintained ones can also trigger a false alarm.
